Sarandë is the southern Riviera’s hub — a lively port city with the Corfu ferry, the best restaurants and the most hotels on this stretch. What it doesn’t have is a great beach of its own: the town beach is a narrow pebble promenade strip. But it’s the perfect base, because the south’s finest coves and Ksamil’s islands are all a short drive away. Here are Sarandë’s beaches and the best ones nearby for 2026.

Quick Answer

Use Sarandë’s promenade beach for an easy evening swim, but plan your real beach days around the coves nearby: Pulëbardha and Mirror Beach just south, Mango Beach on the town’s edge, and Ksamil’s islands 14 km down the coast. For solitude, the coves toward Kakome further south are the wildest. Base in Sarandë for the amenities; beach-hop by car, taxi or boat.

Sarandë’s Beaches & the Best Nearby

1. Sarandë Town Beach (the Promenade)

A narrow strip of dark pebble running along the Rruga Butrinti waterfront — clean water, lovely views across to Corfu, and steps from the town’s cafés and bars. Perfect for a morning or sunset dip; not a full sun-and-sand day.

2. Mango Beach

A small managed beach on the southern edge of town with sunbeds, a beach bar and calmer water than the central promenade — the easiest “proper” beach day within Sarandë itself.

3. Pulëbardha (Seagull) Beach

A gorgeous sandy-pebble cove a short drive south toward Ksamil — clear water, a relaxed crowd, and one of the best beach days close to Sarandë.

4. Mirror Beach (Plazhi i Pasqyrave)

Between Sarandë and Ksamil, named for its still, reflective shallows — a small, scenic cove that’s quieter than Ksamil and an easy drive from town.

5. Ksamil’s Islands (14 km south)

The area’s headline beaches — sandy shallows and swim-to islands. The reason most Sarandë visitors keep a car or take the bus south. Full detail in our Ksamil beaches guide.

6. Kakome & the southern coves

South of Ksamil, Kakome is one of the most beautiful undeveloped bays on the whole coast — reached by boat or a rough track, empty and pristine. For travellers who’ll trade facilities for solitude. See the Borsh & southern coves guide.

Getting to the Beaches

Sarandë is walkable in town, but a rental car or taxi makes the southern coves and Ksamil easy. The Corfu ferry docks in town, and the furgon to Ksamil is €1.50. In peak season a boat from Sarandë port beats the midday road traffic to the islands — see our Sarandë → Ksamil transport guide.
