We're the candid, research-led travel guide to Albania's Ionian coast — written for travellers who plan three weeks ahead and read five sources before booking.

Why we built this site

The Albanian Riviera has become one of Europe's fastest-growing summer destinations. Albania crossed 12.47 million arrivals in 2025 — a 197% increase in four years. But most English-language content about the region splits into two camps: blogger gush ("Maldives of Europe!") or Reddit cynicism (taxi scams, overcrowding). Neither helps you book.

We sit in the honest middle. We map beaches with comparison tables. We publish current prices with sources. We tell you which weeks to skip Ksamil and which villages reward a longer stay. And when something has changed — like the June 2025 mandatory free-access regulation on every beach — we update the page and tell you when.

How we research

• We read every TripAdvisor review and Reddit thread we can find — the good, the angry and the contradictory.
• We cite primary sources: INSTAT (Albania's official statistics agency), Engine Cowl on airline schedules, Ferryhopper for crossings, and the Albanian Tourist Union.
• We rebuild every guide annually. Hotel reviews, prices and timetables are stamped with their last-checked date so you can see how fresh they are.
• We disclose every affiliate relationship in plain language on every page.

Editorial standards

• No paid placements. Hotels, tours and rental companies cannot pay us for a recommendation.
• Affiliate-funded, not editorial-driven. When you book through one of our links — whether to Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Viator, Discover Cars, or any partner — we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We pick partners based on traveller experience, not on commission rate.
• We update. Last published date is shown on every guide; we revise quarterly during the May–October season.
